The cast of The Traitors season 3 was released today, and they truly did a wonderful job. It’s stocked with Bravolebs we love (and hate), Survivor is there in abundance, we’ve got a British Lord, the list goes on. I’d say it’s essentially on par with the last two season casts, and that’s where I think it went wrong.
The eyes that last season got, the drama it brought, and the ending it had was NEXT LEVEL. The budget for the show is already insane, so I can only imagine the increase in cash money they got for season 3. Which is precisely why I was assuming the casting would just SCREAM “we got more funds” and make a huge bang.
I feel like they’re missing out on some reality TV universes that could take it off the charts. Here are my top 5 Traitors misses:
Dr. Heavenly (Married to Medicine) — I’m almost done with my binge of all 10 seasons, and I can’t put into words the level of shade & strategery that these ladies are capable of. More specifically, Dr. Heavenly. Her laugh alone would echo through the Traitors castle and give faithfuls nightmares. But her mere presence, vocabulary, one-liners, interjections, and attitude would be a natural follow up to Ms. Phaedra Parks, esq. Could you imagine the confessionals?!?!?!
Jenni “JWOWW” Farley (Jersey Shore, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Snooki & JWOWW, Marriage Bootcamp) — The fact that the Jersey Shore universe is left out of the Traitors casting makes NO sense to me. They define reality TV longevity, alliances, drama, and commitment. JWOWW is always overlooked now on Family Vacation because she’s in her softer, mom era, but I think Traitors would be a safe space for her to let her inner “you can stay or get your ass beat” that has been quiet for far too long.
Marshawn Lynch (Stars on Mars) — This season would’ve been perfect to give an NFL player a try with the hype around the NFL these days, and Marshawn was everything on Stars on Mars. Sadly, I think I was one of 10 people who actually watched that show, so I think the Traitors platform would be a great spot for him to show his personality to people who love that kind of hilarious, hardworking, semi-laid back energy.
Spencer Pratt & Heidi Montag (The Hills, Celebrity Big Brother, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, House of Villains, etc.) — HOW are these two not the upgrade to the Larsa & Marcus Jordan of last season?! Their podcast shows how clever their banter is with one another, they were the ultimate villains, and it’s an amazing chance to have them prove everyone wrong (yet again). Feels so natural to make this happen and make Heidi a Traitor, but not Spencer.
Scott Disick (KUWTK, Flip It Like Disick, The Kardashians, Kourtney & Kim Take New York, Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, I Am Cait, Rob & Chyna, Kourtney & Khloe Take The Hamptons, Kocktails with Khloe, etc……) — That list alone should show his prowess in the reality TV world, but the main ingredient that the Traitors castle is missing is Lord Disick himself. He was MADE for the fashion, the debauchery, the backstabbing, the pranks, the games — it’s hard for me to think they didn’t invent this show with HIM in mind. I would assume he’s priced himself out of budget for these kind of shows, but this feels worth him giving them a discount.
