I’ll be the first to admit, the Gorga’s know how to throw a party down the shore. I, of course, loved those parts of tonight’s episode. But I’m feeling most inspired to talk about how special the Giudice family is to RHONJ. For some reason, it hit a little harder tonight how much we’ve seen of their lives (maybe because it’s Sunday night and I’m feeling tired & emo).
Teresa is the heart and soul of RHONJ — not one housewife has gone through what she’s gone through on camera, and unlike many other franchises, Jersey simply couldn’t exist without her. Watching the scene of the girls FaceTiming with Juicy Joe while they got ready to move Gabriella to college had me IN MY FEELS — if there is one thing that runs true, Tre & her dorters are as thick as thieves.
This is a huge change for them and seeing these family moments are TRULY what RHONJ is about. Sure, we love to see Kyle Richards buy a $5K bag, and we love to see the ladies of NY go to chic parties. But the FAMILY of it all on Jersey is what makes the franchise — and the Giudice family is the crux of this franchise. Simply, no one can argue that Teresa isn’t an amazing mother.
We’ve seen these girls go from tiny babies to sassy teenagers who had their world flipped upside down when both of their parents went to prison (and one got deported) to losing their grandparents to where they are now — and SO much in-between. The women that they’ve grown into (mostly without their father around) is a huge testament to Teresa as a mother. They’re so impressive — taking the LSAT, going to Michigan, starting careers, professionally dancing, the list goes on!
And say what you want about Louis (I say it too), but the FaceTime energy with Juicy Joe and him both in the room was pleasant and normal and genuinely a positive blended family experience.
RHONJ is built on the Giudice family and I’m feeling legitimately emo about how far they’ve all come.
